The House of Andersen is the web-based publishing label of local composer and performer Scott Sanders. Since moving to Castlemaine in 2008, Scott has largely been involved with organising opportunities for other artists – such as the Castlemaine Fringe, Caspa gallery, Mainesong choir and MAIN fm. However, Scott is also a classically-trained musician working across a variety of genres, styles and instruments, finding what time he can to develop new composition and performance works.
A Night at the House of Andersen is a showcase of some of these projects – some live vocal and instrumental performances, and some live recordings of compositions. Over 90 minutes, the show will include:
- Live improvised electronica
- Live vocal performances of original and cover songs with electronic and orchestral arrangements
- 37° South performing ‘In the Beginning’, a Dylan Thomas poem arranged for choir
- Live recordings of various compositions
A Night at the House of Andersen brings Scott’s unique blend of contemporary classical, electronic and vocal music out from behind the desk, on to the stage.
A Night at the House of Andersen will be performed as part of the Rowe Street Yard Party 11 Rowe St, Castlemaine, Sat between 6-10pm.
