A regional sculptor and photographer, Fuzz explores abstract and surreal visions through the use of digitally manipulated photographic portraiture. With inspiration derived from her own subconscious as well as nature, urban architecture and street art, Fuzz extracts and commemorates Kreecha archetypes with a familiarity that connects the audience with to their own nightmarish encounters. Her use of organic and synthetic detritus in the creation and assembly of her costumes and props creates an explicit link to the shadowy parts of ourselves we abandon in the face of the ersatz neon illumination offered by glossy mass produced pop culture.
Fuzz studied an Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts at Bendigo Tafe, with a keen interest in photography. She has participated in numerous regional exhibitions including ‘Beauty in Decay’, a photographic exhibition at Dudley House and ‘Future Sailors’, a collaborative mixed media exhibition at the Old Castlemaine Jail. Fuzz received the Mason Family Trust Award in 2013
Fuzz’s work will be exhibited at the Old Gaol throughout the festival, opening hours 10-5pm.
