Six Black Dots, Mark Gussy

Opening Friday 4 May 6-8 pm

Exhibition dates: 4-27 May 2018

I am interested in the way context, chance and human agency all converge in the process of making meaning. The images I create have no visual reference to reality but represent a deep personal aesthetic sense. My creative practice often starts from an unplanned and uncontrolled base with found objects, or marks made quickly and randomly on paper.  These compositions have been created from the parts of old and worm-damaged texts using a continuum of techniques from papier collé, chine-collé through collage.  Existing marks are exploited and complemented by new ink or pencil marks.
