Our 2027 official festival poster design competition is now open for submissions.
$500 prize up for grabs! Submissions close June 30 2026.
CREATE AN UNDERWATER SEA MONSTER
We're calling on creators of all ages to dream up an original sea monster for our Monster Mash Garden Party, the closing celebration of Fringe 2027.
We're looking for creatures bursting with imagination, personality, and aquatic adventure. The weirder the better.
Two winning designs will be chosen.
Winners receive a $100 Castlemaine Art Supplies voucher.

art auction 2026
The Art Auction is an important event on the Fringe fundraising calendar, with 50% of the proceeds of all artworks sold going directly towards funding the next Castlemaine Fringe Festival.

Castlemaine Fringe is returning in 2027, celebrating community and creativity throughout the streets and buildings of Castlemaine. Our biennial festival offers diverse cultural and artistic experiences, supporting musicians, performers, and artists. The festival aims to enhance community wellbeing with activities like music, theatre, comedy, workshops, film & literature and exhibitions & open studios in various locations.
Donations support operating costs, the free Opening Night Street Party, and the continuation of Fringe, ensuring it remains fun, inclusive, accessible and affordable for everyone. All donations made to Fringe via the Australian Cultural Fund are tax-deductible.

WALKING THE FISH
Commissioned to celebrate its 30th anniversary, 'Walking The Fish' is a short documentary tracing the origins of Castlemaine Fringe.
