Drawing on text from the RARE, THREATENED AND ENDANGERED PLANTS OF THE CASTLEMAINE DISTRICT, Box-ironbark Specimen #1 appropriates and displays text from the pamphlet of the same name, on a partially decomposed timber specimen from local box-ironbark forest.

Originally compiled by Ern Perkins in 2015, the original pamphlet presents a list of ‘plant species that are uncommon in the Shire of Mount Alexander and locally occurring plants that are considered to be rare and endangered in Victoria.’
